Where have all the fresh flowers gone?

A Winter Hiatus

Time to share an update on my fresh flowers, as these have been on pause but will be coming back the Spring…

As a seasonally led florist, who chooses to use as many British flowers as possible, I am unable to gather a supply of flowers within the winter when they’re out of season.

But why would a florist not sell fresh flowers throughout the colder winter Months?

The British fresh flower season is typically April to October, depending on weather & local climate.

I don’t wish to rely on imported blooms, so I focus my energies into other areas of Bryonia over the colder months, and work with natural dried flowers & evergreens instead.

Imported blooms and concerns that I have with using these products will be covered in much more detail during my Sustainability Series, which is coming soon.

So you might have already spotted fresh bunches aren’t yet available on the Flower Shop. As soon as the fresh flower season begins, you’ll be the first to know.

Until Spring freshies!
